    Hello,

This is *awesome*. I have been looking for quite sometime for a Keepass app that supports Keepass 2.x and dropbox (in a non-public folder).

One quick question though. I read somewhere that Keepass 2.x files are read-only for now. Do you plan on adding write support at some point? Read support is already amazing but I was just wondering :).

    Thanks for an awesome job!

@romain: It’s in the pipe.. but it’s a hard thing to do. Thus not before a few months. I don’t want to loose anything when you save on Kypass.

  2. I would love to have a pull down to refresh on a linked dropbox account to force the cached files to be synced.

  3. Any chance of making the automatic logout time user defined? For example I might want the database to stay logged in for an hour or two. Thanks.

      @tom It’s possible 🙂
@paul: You just have to quit the application and restart. The synchronization starts when the window opens. (No need to kill Kypass in the taskbar anymore)

60 seconds before log out sounds a bit fast, maybee you could put this in the settings?

Great that work on this *essential* app (for me) has restarted.
I agree with Steven: 60 secs is a bit short. Is it possible to make this optional, i.e. put a field where I can enter the number of seconds to wait before lock-up?
    Thanks!

Aha, it seems that now Kypass remains open, even when the iPhone locks. So remains open until closed by user. That is very convenient, but also very dangerous!
Please give an option to close the database when the iPhone locks. For me this could be the standard behaviour. If I want it to remain open longer, then I can adjust the time that the iPhone locks.

It’s the 60 seconds delay in the next version.
The automatic log out only happens when you are in backgroud

Request: in edit mode, passwords are not visible (****). Please keep the key in the top meny, so we can make them visible. And/or keep them visible if this has already been selected.

Request. When looking at passwords, I would like to see the field Title at the top of the island where there is now just username/password/website. The Title is now visible in the header, but this space is so small that it does not show many of my complete Titles.
And -just like in KeePass for PC- I would like to be able to edit the Title here, rather than in the entry-list.

Request. In the Search-list, the standard-feature of an alphabet to the right, with the spyglass in top and then a – z, so we can scroll to the right spot fast.

Also, it would be very nice to be able to search within entries (in the Comment-field).

Question: How does the connection with Dropbox work?
I tried putting the .kdb files in a private folder, and also in Public, but I do not see the files in KyPass when i press “+”.

You have to put your kdb file in the /Crypted (on any other directory configured in the Settings of KyPass)

Hi. I just purchased Kypass for my iPad. I must say that so far you’ve done a good job, and Keepass basic functionallity seems to be well implemented. However, I’d like to make a few suggestions.

I see from your answers here that you are planning on supporting write cappability for .kdbx files. Since that was the first thing I was goin to suggest, I’ll move on to my other suggestions.

It would be nice to be able to to change record icons. The original Keepass icon set would be enough for me.

I’d really love to be able to attach files (specially scanned documents) to my records, just like in the original Keepass. If those attached files could be transferred from other apps to Kypass using “open in” functionality, that would be perfect. It would be interesting also to be able to export those attachments to other apps using that same “open in” functionality.

Anyway, congratulations for this app, which has allowed me to carry my Keepass database with me. Looking forward to 1.2 (I think you mentioned it would be released today, am I right?).

  12. Hi. I just upgraded Kypass. When I try to open my kdbx file (created with KeePass 2.15), I have the message “File is not supported (error code:UnsupportedVersion).

Wait for 1.2. The new version supports this format and was sent to approval to Apple yesterday

  13. Hi!, just (one more) request:

I use an image file to complement the password for my database (the password is too easy to catch while you type it on an iPad). So, any plans to add the image selection dialog in a future version? I use it from my Linux desktop and Android phone shared via dropbox and I’m pretty happy with the results so far. Would love to be able to use it from my iPad!

    Hi,
I just purchased KyPass for my iPhone. On my computer I use KeePass 2.15 with a master password AND a keyfile to increase security. When I tried open the kdbx file I got the message “File is not supported”. Can you please add support for this security feature, because the current version of KyPass is unfortunately not useful for me. Maybe other users still have the same problem.

  15. I was waiting for this app for a long time (dropbox support and kp 2.15 files, that I’ve seen will be supported shortly).

So I’m imbarrassed for such a stupid question.

After I’ve succesfully linked with my dropbox account, HOW can I add files, that are in the dropbox folders structure, to the “KeePass files” list?

    Ehm … 🙁

No problem 🙂 it’s a recurring question. You have to copy your kdb database in the “/crypted” folder at the root of your dropbox.

      1. Sorry my question was probably a bit misleading. I don´t mean the Keepass 2.15 support. This is now well. I mean the security, namely the use of a master password in combination with a keyfile.

Do you plan to support it in the next version 1.3?

        1. RedBug Avatar
          RedBug

Yes… Version 1.3 will support Key files (without dropbox synchronisation for security reason)

  16. Just read.
Ikeepass is ready to submit new version on July 22 with dropbox support

Yes. I know. But not released yet 🙂

  17. 1- How do you load the keyfile ?
2- Is the user manual ?

    1. RedBug Avatar
      RedBug

No user manual actually and the key file, look at http://www.kyuran.be/blog/2011/07/15/kypass-1-3-is-out/
      Thank you

  18. I just saw the note that keyfile support is planned for Version 1.3. I look forward to that time. Any chance you can put my email address in an emailer to announce the major milestone release of KyPass.

    1. Pardon my last comment, my entry to this blog via search engine missed that Ver. 1.3 is out and it appears that Ver. 1.5 is in development. Unfortunately, using a fixed name for a keyfile is a security limitation. It would be so very much better, if (as is done in Android OS) the keyfile could be any file on the iPhone and thus any of the hundreds or thousands of music files on an iPhone could be used as the keyfile.

  19. Hi will kypass support iCloud?

    Regards
    Jan

    1. Yes !
      I need it myself 🙂
